Ozmo 'Galileo Galilei'

Created for the "StART" project on the occasion of the "Welcome to Pisa" festival, the mural dedicated to Galileo Galilei is a monumental work by the Italian artist Ozmo (Gionata Gesi). With his unique and visionary style, Ozmo wanted to pay homage to the great Pisan scientist, celebrating his cultural and scientific legacy through a contemporary artistic language. The mural represents symbols and references to Galileo's life and discoveries, and fits perfectly into the urban setting of Pisa, the birthplace of the famous astronomer and mathematician.

Originally created in 2017, the mural was removed due to the renovation of the building on which it was painted. However, in 2022 Ozmo decided to recreate it, returning to the city a work that has become a symbol of connection between art, science, and territory.

The interior of Galileo's silhouette is filled with planets and stars, while around the figure are “his” instruments, such as the telescope.
