OPERAE: the Fibonacci tower returns to Pisa
13 meters of monumental sculpture by Gianni Lucchesi in Piazza dei Cavalieri.

From 5 to 25 November 2025, Piazza dei Cavalieri hosts OPERAE, Gianni Lucchesi's sculptural tower that combines mathematics and philosophy, concrete and gold, the Fibonacci sequence with Giordano Bruno's hermetic seals. The work –13 meters high – consists of 12 modular concrete cubes arranged according to the Fibonacci progression (1, 1, 2, 3, 5...). At the top, a seated human figure looks towards the horizon. The Brunian seals shine in gold on the surface: projections of the five Platonic solids that the philosopher enclosed in his "Seal of Venus".

The return home
After the stops in Milan (Fuorisalone 2023) and Genoa (Piazza De Ferrari 2023), OPERAE arrives in Pisa – birthplace of Leonardo Fibonacci – during the Fibonacci Days (21-24 November), thanks to the contribution of the Municipality of Pisa. The location in front of the Scuola Normale Superiore creates a dialogue between Vasari's façade of the Palazzo della Carovana, rich in allegorical symbols, and the contemporary verticality of the Lucchesi tower, decorated with seals.
