Vicolo del Vigna

Vicolo del Vigna is a characteristic alley in Pisa’s historic centre, connecting the area around Piazza delle Vettovaglie with Lungarno Pacinotti. What makes the alley particularly distinctive is the series of so-called “Mattonelle d’artista”—19 individual artworks decorating its walls and bringing contemporary art into the historic fabric of the city.

Together, the works give this small urban space its distinctive character and invite visitors to pause and explore a lesser-known corner of central Pisa. They offer a different perspective on the city, where the intimate character of its historic streets meets contemporary artistic interventions.
