The dream of a Hollywood on the river Arno
From more than 100 years cinema is part of our lives. Its history is intertwined with not only the history of its spectators, but also with the history of the territory and the people who build movies with their immagination, their faces and their work.
A history that tells, from a new point of view, in addition to the birth of a city, the drama of the war and the development and the transformations of cinema. The movies, the images of the great stars and the scene photos, but also the music, the costumes and the machines will propose through the environment reconstructions, the history of cinema in Tirrenia, an engaging and fascinating journey in the life of the Italian society of those 35 years.
Thanks also to the valuable original materials, often little known and surprising, coming from public and private collections and from the archives of the National Cinema Museum of Torino, the exhibition also offers a reflection on the Italian cinema and its transformations and it makes, furthermore, discover the jobs of cinema, the "behind the scenes" of the technicians and artisans who make real, still nowadays, the fantasies of the screen.
