Workshops for families with children aged 7 and over at the Museum of Ancient Ships in Pisa
2nd and 4th Sundays at 15:30
Workshops and guided tours for children with our didactically experienced archaeologists and museum tours for adults: a special offer for families with children aged 7 and up.
While the little ones visit the museum, with its perfectly preserved ancient vessels, and take part in a beautiful educational workshop, their parents can in turn take part in the scheduled guided tour. A different workshop will be offered each time.

Guided tours of one hour with an in-depth look at the proposed theme, to be guided by our operators through the museum rooms, discovering ancient curiosities and secrets, with explanations suitable for all ages!
DECEMBER 2023
10 December → 'Lighting in Roman times' workshop
When the light bulb did not exist, lighting was provided by small oil lamps made of ceramic or, rarely, metal. We discover how they worked and reproduce them with clay and bivalve moulds, modelled on those found during excavations.
17 December → Thematic visit 'Christmas Yesterday, Christmas Today. Journey between Rome and modernity, discovering transformations and overlaps".
On the occasion of one of the most important anniversaries for one of the great monotheistic religions (and not only), we propose an interesting journey that will lead our visitors to discover what 'Christmas' was for our ancestors, from the primitive Saturnalia, through solar divinities such as Mithras and Sol Invictus, to the astute Constantine, and on to our days. Between cults, customs and anecdotes. We look forward to seeing you, together with Father Christmas who will visit us in the museum!

All activities cost € 6 per person + admission to the museum
