Eleven years after the last edition, the Strapazzata, a non-competitive race with two recreational-motor routes of 5 and 10 km, will return to Pisa on 25 April 2025. This year's event will be part of the calendar of events ‘Waiting for the Giro’ (https://www.turismo.pisa.it/en/eventi/2025-Giro-d-Italia-in-Pisa) in anticipation of the stage passing through Pisa on 20 May 2025. The Strapazzata was born in 1982 as an event combining sport and nature, dedicated to more experienced runners but also amateurs.
The event will start from the Cittadella, the historic site of the first edition, and will run towards the centre and Viale delle Piagge on two recreational-motor routes of 5 and 10 km. Pink jerseys celebrating the cycling event will be produced and handed out to the first 4000 registered participants. For the occasion, the organisers have coined a special design with the nibs of David Bardini of Pontedera, a graphic designer and amateur cyclist with a runner ‘launching’ the stage of the Giro d'Italia.
