This year, on International Women's Day, the Museum of Physics Instruments-Ludoteca Scientifica will be decked out in pink with events for children and adults.

From the dawn of ancient alchemy developed by the great civilisations of the past to the birth of modern chemistry, women have left traces that time seems to have partially erased. Although women were denied access to scientific knowledge until the beginning of the last century and discrimination continued for many decades, the history of chemistry is dotted with many stories of women scientists, timeless symbols of ingenuity, perseverance and commitment.
