In Pisa, it will also be possible to follow the eclipse in Piazza del Duomo:

6:00 PM, conference to explain the celestial phenomenon, curated by Astrofili of ACA, in collaboration with OPA Primaziale of Pisa Cathedral.

The telescopes were then positioned up to the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa to image the eclipsed sun, towards the west, on the horizon of the Tyrrhenian Sea, curated by Astrofili of ACA and astrophotographer Marco Meniero.

A station with ACA telescopes and tactile instruments will also be planned, as this event will also be inclusive, particularly for the blind from the UICI of Pisa, the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired. Other associations will also be able to participate, including ACA as the UAI Delegation (Italian Amateur Astronomers' Union), which has been organizing inclusive events within the “Stars for All” project for years.

After the eclipse, from Piazza Dei Miracoli, the evening of observation at the telescopes will continue and eyes will be turned to the sky above all for the wonder offered by the spectacle of the shooting stars of the Perseids “also known as the tears of Saint Lawrence”.

Although the phenomenon will not be directly visible from Piazza Dei Miracoli, because it is too low on the horizon, ACA amateur astronomers want to offer everyone the opportunity to follow the event, so those who cannot go to Marina di Pisa will have the opportunity to do so and even see it live as it appears from Spain, from the Menorca Observation website where there will be amateur astronomers from all over the world but also from Peccioli, the AAAV and Benevento, Rome, from the GAB associations Gruppo astrofili Beneventani, APA Associazione Pontina di Astronomia, ATA, Associazione Tuscolana di Astronomia.

The screen in the Conference Room of the Opera Primartiale will feature images from Spain, Marina di Pisa, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and the UAI, which will also broadcast the event live on its own channels.

Follow the eclipse safely
All the Associations named above are delegations of the IAU and it is recommended to follow the eclipse safely, without looking directly at the Sun but following the instructions of the amateur astronomers and astronomers present, using appropriate and certified filters for observing the Sun and following the event on the screens where the images taken by the telescopes will be projected. Looking at the sun directly, even at sunset, is dangerous and can cause irreversible damage to the retina.

Eclipse of the 3rd° millennium, because for the first time it can be followed on social media channels, in connection with various sites that will simultaneously send images, taking advantage of the communication tools that the 3rd° millennium offers us and not least the fact that in this era there are initiatives underway that make astronomical observation inclusive even for the blind.

Follow the eclipse live
The ACA live broadcast from Piazza Dei Miracoli will begin at 6:00 PM and conclude at 9:15 PM and will be available to watch:

from the site https://www.astrofilicascinesi.it/
from the FB page of Astrofili Cascinesi

The live UAI will begin around 7:30 PM, coinciding with the start of the partial eclipse, and will conclude around 8:45 PM. The peak of the phenomenon —the peak of the partial eclipse in Italy and the total eclipse in Spain— is expected around 8:30 PM, shortly before sunset.
