From Wednesday 9 to Saturday 14 June 2024, the Piccolo Festival della Fiducia (Small Festival of Trust), now in its fourth edition, returns to Piazza S. Frediano in Pisa.
The event was conceived and promoted by the Libreria Pellegrini - Centro Culturale ‘I cercatori di tracce’, in collaboration with the University Church of San Frediano. Scientific direction by Tommaso Greco and conception by Massimo Trocchi.
The 2025 edition, on the centenary of the birth of the great Sicilian artist Andrea Camilleri, to whom the opening of the festival will be dedicated, will be devoted to words, their uses, abuses and the multiform universes of meaning that they enclose.
The desire of this festival is to contribute to re-establishing ‘a friendship’ with the universe of words.
PROGRAMME - all events are FREE ADMISSION
MONDAY 9 JUNE
- 5 p.m. - nauguration of the exhibition freely inspired by the festival theme PAROLE DI FIDUCIA (WORDS OF TRUST), realised by the students of the Liceo Artistico Russoli of Pisa (curated by Prof. Laura Fabbri). The exhibition will be open to the public throughout the festival from 5 to 9 p.m.);
- 6:15 p.m. - "Il mio Camilleri", opening meeting of the festival with Marco Malvaldi, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Andrea Camilleri's birth. Interview with Marco Geri (University of Pisa);
- 9:30 p.m. - "Una parola di verità",the great public speeches of Aleksandr Solzenicyn. Meeting with Marco Sabbatini (University of Pisa), translator and editor of the volume ‘A Word of Truth’, 2025. Excerpts from the speeches in the book will be recited during the evening;
TUESDAY 10 JUNE
- 6:15 p.m. - "Amare la verità più di se stessi", ethics and responsibility in information. Participants: Massimo Bernardini (creator and presenter of the RAI TV Talk programme) and Luca Sofri (editorial director of Il Post). The dialogue is led by Giovanni Scarafile (University of Pisa);
- 9.30 p.m. - ‘Le parole fanno il solletico’, meeting with Stefano Bartezzaghi. Dialogue with the author, Alessandro Agostinelli and Lina Bolzoni (Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa);
WEDNESDAY 11 JUNE
- ore 18:15 - "Le Parole del diritto", meeting with Valeria Marcenò, dialogue with the author TOMMASO GRECO (Scientific Director Piccolo Festival della fiducia);
- 9:30 p.m. - "Le parole del cantico delle creature" ,on the occasion of the celebrations of the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis, we return to the words that, in a still uncertain ridge between Latin and Italian, gave rise to our literature. And not only. Meeting with DAVIDE RONDONI (poet, essayist, President of the National Committee for the celebration of the eighth centenary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi);
THURSDAY 12 JUNE
- 6.15 p.m. - "Fare cose con le parole" - how language constructs reality. Meeting with Vittorio Pelligra from the University of Cagliari and Niccolò Nisivoccia, lawyer and poet;
- 9.30 p.m. - "L'isola della felicità", meeting with writer and director Davide Ferrario;
FRIDAY 13 JUNE
- 6:15 p.m. - "La ragazza di Savannah", incontro con Romana Petri. Nel centenario della nascita della scrittrice americana Flannery O'Connor;
- 9:30 p.m. - "Non vi guardo perchè rischio di fidarmi" - stories of falls and resurrection. Meeting with Don Claudio Burgio, chaplain of the Cesare Beccaria juvenile prison in Milan and founder of the Kairòs community. Dialogue with the author by teachers Luisa Prodi and Paola Mariani;
SATURDAY 14 JUNE
- 6:15 p.m. - "Le parole dell'odio". Dialogue in the margins of the book ‘Nell'età dell'odio’ (Il Mulino, 2025) by Antonio Nicita. Discusses with the author Tommaso Greco;
- 9:30 p.m. - "La casa dell'attesa", meeting with Fabio Geda in collaboration with Medici con l'Africa - CUAMM Pisa.
Before the meeting, an honorary membership plaque will be presented to Prof. Pasqualino Albi by the President of Esperia-Associazione Culturale Calabresi a Pisa.
DOPOFESTIVAL - MONDAY 23 JUNE at the Garden of the Church of San Frediano (entrance from Via Paoli)
- 9:30 p.m. - ‘Can we trust artificial intelligence? Challenges, risks and opportunities of an epochal change’. Meeting with Vincenzo Ambriola and Adriano Fabris.
9TH TO 14TH JUNE: ‘Words of Trust’ exhibition by the students of the Liceo artistifo F.Russoli of Pisa.
