On Thursday, October 15, at 6:00 PM, the conference "Saint Francis between the memory and the future" will be held at Bastione Sangallo, on the occasion of the eighth centenary of the death of Italy's patron saint. The initiative, organized by the Rotary Club Cascina e Monte Pisano in collaboration with the Municipality of Pisa, will be free to enter.
Among the planned interventions are those of the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Pisa, Filippo Bedini, and Alessandro Tosi, professor at the Department of Civilizations and Forms of Knowledge at the University of Pisa and director of the Museum of Graphics. The meeting will be introduced by Fabrizio Grossi, former Councilor for Culture for the Province of Pisa, while moderating will be Dario Marzini, President of the Rotary Club Cascina e Monte Pisano.
The meeting will be an opportunity to delve deeper into the figure of Saint Francis through his historical and religious story and to reflect on the relevance of his message eight centuries after his death. The influence of the figure of the Saint on symbolism and contemporary art will also be explored in depth.
