An organ concert open to the public to remember Monsignor Franco Baggiani, a Pisan priest and musician who passed away on October 27, 2025. The appointment is for Saturday, November 7th, at the Cathedral in Pisa at 9 pm. The concert is organized on the occasion of the National Conference promoted in Pisa (7-8 November 2026) by the Italian Santa Cecilia Association.
On the organ is Maestro Claudiano Pallottini, organist of the Cappella Musicale del Duomo di Pisa since 1994, who will present a program dedicated to European Romantic and late Romantic organ music, with compositions by Gabriel Pierné, Alexandre Guilmant, Marco Enrico Bossi, and Flor Peeters.
The concert is dedicated to the memory of Don Franco Baggiani (1934-2025), maestro of the Musical Chapel of Pisa Cathedral from 1977 to 1992, priest and scholar of sacred music. Baggiani also devoted himself to the protection of the organs of the diocese's churches and was a member of the Italian Association of Santa Cecilia, holding the position of director of the Organology Secretariat.
