Spring bursts onto the Walls of Pisa, which are at their best at this time of year: the reawakening of the plants and their blossoms make a stroll along the upper walkway even more enchanting, whilst the days grow longer and the monument remains open until 8 pm.
Against this backdrop, the seasonal event ‘Mura botaniche’ returns: a guided tour led by experts from the Botanical Garden and Museum, who will explain the unique features of the urban flora, from the famous caper to all the other species that grow on the Walls, making the most of every nook and cranny.
Saturday 11 April, departure at 3.00 pm from the access point at Torre Piezometrica behind the Polo Fibonacci, arriving in Piazza dei Miracoli. The tour will continue in the Botanical Garden, a true gem of the city that houses plant species and stories waiting to be told. The tour will last approximately three hours. Places are limited, and booking is recommended by emailing educazione.ortomuseobot@sma.unipi.it by 12 noon on Friday 10 April. Tickets cost €9 and include entry to the city walls and the Botanical Garden; payment is to be made on the day.
