Screening of Lorenzo Garzella's documentary and talk by Stefano Gallo
The short documentary by Acquario della Memoria (2023, 36 minutes), rich in archives and first-hand accounts, introduces the reflections of Stefano Gallo, director of the Serantini Library, on the attempts at alliance between students and workers during the period of protest, which saw the former multiply and the latter drastically decline in the following decades.

History and stories from the heart of the University of Pisa, covering everyday life and memorable events. Students, professors and famous figures. From Piazza del Grano to the Medici, from the great Lorraine celebration to the Risorgimento. Focusing on the 20th century, with animated photographs and film archives: from 1968 to the Pantera, from Pope Wojtyla to the Dalai Lama. Stories and brief accounts by Lorenzo Garzella, alternating with video clips from the multimedia project “La Sapienza Night Experience”.

Over the years, and thanks to the “Mosaico Pisa” project, Acquario della Memoria has collected numerous period films related to the relationship between the university and the city. This meeting is an opportunity to relive some glimpses of university life in the city in real time, with precious and rare film contributions accompanied by live sound. A special place is reserved for the short films of Mario Benvenuti, a unique observer and cameraman who documented life in Pisa from the Cine-GUF (Fascist University Groups) to the 1980s.
Live musical accompaniment by Linda Palazzolo (percussion and vocals) and Paolo Pewee Durante (electronic keyboard).
The initiative is sponsored by the Comune di Pisa,funded by Fondazione Pisa in collaboration with Palazzo Blu, Università di Pisa - Civiltà e Forme del Sapere, Cinema Arsenale, VivaVoce.
