The Migliarino San Rossore Massaciuccoli Park opens its doors on both 25 April and 1 May, with many opportunities to experience and get to know nature, learn to appreciate and respect it more and more.

Timetables, barbecues, rules and monitoring - In the San Rossore Estate, which at this time is open every day until 7.30 p.m., wooden equipment such as platforms and gazebos in the Cascine Vecchie area have recently been upgraded by the Park's workers, while the Municipality of Pisa's environment office and Geofor have placed new waste bins.

For the classic outing, barbecues can be held in the special areas equipped with windbreaks, bringing your own braziers of the type raised off the ground, taking the necessary precautions and taking care to leave the area in good condition. Exceptionally, on 25 April and 1 May, given the high number of people expected, barbecues will also be allowed on the Cascine Vecchie roundabout lawn on the west side, in the crescent between the office buildings and the road. In action to ensure environmental protection will be the Park Guards and the Carabinieri Forestali, the latter also with patrols on horseback, assisted by the Voluntary Environmental Guards and the Nogra Eco-zoofil Guards.

The Park Volunteers will explain to visitors the rules for better enjoyment of the Park: do not abandon rubbish, keep dogs on a leash to prevent them from following wild animals and getting lost, for barbecues have water available to extinguish embers, and dispose of ashes in suitable containers without throwing them in bins to avoid the risk of fire.

Walks at San Rossore and events - Almost half of the estate can be visited independently, more than 2,000 hectares out of 4,800, corresponding to area C and area B on marked trails. Area A can be visited accompanied by an environmental guide.

On Thursday 25 April, the San Rossore visitor centre is organising a guided bike tour to the sea at 9.30 am, a boat tour from San Rossore to Pisa and back at 10.30 am and a train tour to the sea at 3 pm.

Also available on Wednesday 1 May are bike and train tours. Reservations by telephone at 050-530101 are compulsory from Tuesday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Equitiamo organises tours on horseback for beginners and experts, to explore forests full of wild animals while experiencing intense contact with nature, for information and reservations call 338-3662431 or 349-7501087.

Finally, San Rossore in a horse-drawn carriage offers horse-drawn carriage rides even as far as the sea, reservations at 330-206235.
