On the occasion of the Giro d'Italia coming to Pisa, scheduled for Tuesday 20 May, the Municipality of Pisa promotes a musical event open to citizens. The event will take place on Monday, May 19 at Ponte di Mezzo, with free admission, and will be attended by the internationally renowned deejay Federico Scavo.
Active for more than thirty years in the national and international scene, he has 2 gold records and 4 platinum records. He was the first official remixer of Pink Floyd (with "Another Brick in the Wall") and has collaborated with world stars such as Snoop Dogg, Lady Gaga, Enrique Iglesias, Jovanotti, Ghali and Salmo. His hits such as Strump, Blow It, Funky Nassau, Balada, Parole Parole, Caminando, Caliente (feat. Roy Paci) boast over 500 titles in discography and millions of views.
The event will start at 22.30 and end at 01.00. The artistic organization and coordination of the event are curated by Glauco Ghelardoni.
The initiative is part of the program of side events promoted by the municipal administration to accompany the presence of the Giro d'Italia in the city, with the aim of enhancing the historic center and encouraging the participation of citizens. Changes in traffic:
Some temporary road measures will be taken to ensure the safe running of the event and the regular flow of public.
From 18.00 on 19 May, and until 01.00, the Ponte di Mezzo will be closed to vehicular traffic. In the same time zone Lungarno Pacinotti, on the stretch between piazza Carrara and piazza Garibaldi, will be closed to ordinary traffic. Vehicles with ZTL authorization will still be able to pass through the intersection with via Curtatone and Montanara.
From 21.00 to 00.30 hours the closure to traffic will be extended also to the stretch of Lungarno Mediceo, between Piazza Garibaldi and Piazza Cairoli. At the same time, it will be forbidden to transit also Lungarno Galilei, where temporary changes will be implemented to the road: vehicles already parked must turn left in Piazza San Sepolcro then flow on via delle Belle Donne. There will also be an inversion of the directions in Piazza San Sepolcro and via Dal Borgo, temporary abolition of the pedestrian areas in Via San Martino (between Vicolo del Moro and Corso Italia) and in Via Toselli (from Corso Italia to Via Garofani), and the introduction of a one-way route in Via Toselli, in the stretch between via Garofani and via dell'Occhio.
Always from 21.00 to 00.30, the stretch of Lungarno Gambacorti between piazza XX Settembre and via Toselli will be closed to traffic. Finally, on the bridge of the fortress will be established the one way of travel with south-north direction.
