The Scuola Normale Superiore is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Don Lorenzo Milani with a conference and exhibition dedicated to the prior of Barbiana. Father Alex Zanotelli, an Italian missionary who was inspired by the figure and work of Don Milani throughout his life, will recall his great humanity and attention to the underprivileged in a public lecture entitled 'Don Milani today', at 3 p.m. on Monday 27 November in the Sala Azzurra of the Palazzo della Carovana in Pisa, with free admission.

This will be followed by the opening of the exhibition, also with free admission, 'The exemplary story of Don Lorenzo Milani's life in the drawings of Alice Milani'. In the rooms of the Torre del Conte Ugolino, incorporated inside the Palazzo dell'Orologio, in Piazza dei Cavalieri, some plates of drawings from the book 'Universities and Sheep. Vita di don Lorenzo Milani' (Feltrinelli Comics 2019), a graphic novel realised by Alice Milani Comparetti, don Milani's niece, which traces the last dramatic days of the priest's life.

The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Saturday (excluding holidays), from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m., until 21 December. The exhibition is curated by the Michelucci Foundation, which also participates in the meeting with Alex Zanotelli with a speech by the Foundation's director, Andrea Aleardi.
