Walk with the Uisp on the high-altitude walkway, a unique route between greenery and monuments

Walking in the centre but away from traffic, immersed in the greenery and beauty of Pisa's monuments: Uisp committee of Pisa in collaboration with the Walls of Pisa proposes for Saturday 10 September 'Mura in cammino aspettando il tramonto' (Walls on a walk waiting for sunset) a walk above and below the ancient city walls, to promote healthy and healthy lifestyles. 

Meeting point at 5.45 p.m. at the Torre di Legno, the entrance to the Walls near Piazza Del Rosso, departure at 6 p.m. with the ascent up the high walkway to arrive around sunset in Piazza dei Miracoli. A total of 3.5 kilometres at a height of 11 metres admiring monuments that tell centuries of the city's history: Piazza delle Gondole, the former Marzotto factory, the Bagni di Nerone, the churches of San Francesco and San Zeno up to the monumental complex of the Duomo di Santa Maria Assunta with the Leaning Tower, the Monumental Cemetery and the Baptistery of San Giovanni.

Ticket 8 euros including admission to the Walls, Uisp membership card and accompaniment by two qualified Uisp instructors. 5 euro for children up to 12 years of age, free for disabled persons and accompanying person. For the disabled, the descent will be back to the Piezometric Tower, subject to prior notice, always remaining on the walkway at altitude; there are some steps on the path at one point. CoopCulture, Cooperativa Itinera and Promocultura constitute the association of enterprises that manages the high altitude walkway of the Antiche Mura di Pisa. Built between the 12th and 13th centuries, the Walls of Pisa are an example of the military architecture of the time, a sign of the greatness of the Pisan Republic and today a privileged vantage point from which to admire the city.
