On Saturday 21 January 2023 at 4pm, the opening of the photo exhibition 'Through Our Eyes' will be held at the SMS Biblio Municipal Library.

Started in 2019, it is a photography project that involved 156 minors aged 9 to 17 from STILL I RISE emergency and international schools.

The minors followed a photography course led by Nicoletta Novara in the "Mazí" (Samos, Greece) and "Still I Rise International School" (Nairobi, Kenya) schools, and by Syrian photographer Mahmoud Faisal in the "Ma'an" (Ad-Dana, Syria) school. At the end of the course, the students received a colour disposable camera to tell their lives through the universal language of photography.

"Through Our Eyes" talks about migration, war and poverty through an inside look: it breaks down the stereotyped and simplistic narrative that often creates ignorance and fear.

The exhibition will be open until 18 February 2023 during library opening hours (Mon-Fri 9am-7pm; Sat 10.30am-7pm; Sun closed).
