The Bridge Game takes place every year, on the Middle Bridge, where the Magistrature (representing the city quarters), which are united in the parts of the South and of the Tramontana (south and north of the Arno), is facing. They both push a trolley along a track that is specially mounted on the Bridge.

 

Before the Battle, there is a historic procession, consisting of 710 figures, all in Spanish-style sixteenth-century costume. The procession winds through the Lungarni that border the Arno river.
