Pisa Marathon, now in its 22nd edition, is run along a flat, fast route through art, history and nature. After the first few kilometres in the city, it crosses the Natural Park and reaches the sea. Return along the Arno and finish under the Leaning Tower.

Original formula: there will be several marathons: the traditional 42 km, the 21 km 'Pisanina' (both true competitions, reserved for members) and three respectively of 14 km, 7 km and 3 km for non-competitors.

The technical sponsor of the Marathon is Hoka One One, a leading brand in the world of road and trail running shoes. An important partnership with an innovative and constantly growing company, capable of meeting the needs of a competition that is unique in its kind, for its technical characteristics and for the uniqueness of the area in which it takes place.

RACE AND ROUTE - The start of the Marathon (42.195 km) is set at 9:00 am, at the same time will start the Pisanina Half Marathon (21.097 km). In agreement with the Ateneo Pisano and the CUS Pisa, a 4-mile race has also been organised for students and university employees; the best man and woman runner will be awarded the Cherubino trophy by the CUS. The aim of this trophy, now in its third edition, is to raise awareness and induce people who have never tried the experience of running in a major event to take part in the sport.

THE GRAPHICS - The official jersey and medal of the race, according to a tradition now established, will enhance the historical and artistic values of Pisa.

The T-shirt will be inspired by the current exhibition at the Palazzo Blu art museum, open until 17 April 2022, entitled "Keith Haring", a tribute to the American artist, universally recognised as one of the fathers of street art.  We are very proud of this choice, also because of the special bond between the artist and the city, where Haring stayed in 1989 to paint the famous mural "Tuttomondo" on a wall of the Convent of St. Anthony. The athletes of this edition of the 42 and 21 km race will run wearing the bright and jubilant colours of one of the best-loved pop artists of our times, confirming the will of the Marathon organisation to establish a virtuous dialogue between sport and culture, in a combination that makes sport an important moment of promotion and enhancement of our territory.

The medal is in the same style, gold with a white background cord for the marathon runners, silver with a blue background cord for the Pisanina athletes.
