Dance can transform reality, stimulating in the audience reflections on the present and imaginations about the future. This is the idea behind the Festival "Primavera di Danza", the event directed by Flavia Bucciero and organised by Con.Cor.D.A./Movimentoinactor of the Rete R.A.T. (Tuscan Artistic Residences) with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Region of Tuscany, which will be held on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 May at the Teatro Nuovo in Pisa.
A meeting of internationally renowned companies that will offer the public performances that experiment with new languages and are true visions in dance. It begins on Saturday 18 May at 7.30 p.m. with the performance by the host company Con.Cor.D.A./Movimentoinactor Teatrodanza "Aporie del presente" by and with Iolanda Del Vecchio and Silvio Sgueglia with original music by Fabio Cuccari in which the artists investigate the relationship with themselves and the manifest reality, dialoguing with it through the fluid languages of our time in the conviction that art must be a community phenomenon.
Next, the Roman Mandala Dance Company will stage "Balancier" by Paola Sorressa performed by dancers Alessia Stocchi, Davide Galuppi and Matteo Almici to music by Alva Noto and Aleksi Perala. The performance gives voice to the desperate search for a balance, whether static or dynamic, that shatters with the awareness that we are asked to swing endlessly without ever reaching it. Closing the evening, the Compagnia ASMED - Balletto di Sardegna with 'Oscure Luminescenze'. Written by Lucas Delfino Monteiro and Valeria Angela Russo, directed by Senio Giovanni Barbaro Dattena and interpreted by Flavia Dule and Lucas Monteiro Delfino, this production is an investigation that stems from the urge to move away from one's comfort zone to swim in the open sea, to lap unknown shores. Grand finale with the company that will perform on Sunday 19 May, the Compagnia Natiscalzi TD from Reggio Emilia, which will stage two shows: "The timidity of the wolf" with choreography by Claudia Rossi Valli who is also the performer together with Elena Grappi. A Cinqueminuti APS/ASMED Balletto di Sardegna production realised with the support of SD Factory, which, as in Pennac's tale "The Eye of the Wolf", puts spectators in front of their own wolf-reflex, asking them to trust the unknown. This is followed by the performance 'Nebbia', a Cinqueminuti APS/Compagnia Abbondanza Bertoni production that tells of the plunge into the indefiniteness of what for Tommaso Monza (choreographer and performer) is dance. A vibrant reflection on the fog that envelops us and gives us the vision and fear of the void to be discovered by groping.
Primavera di Danza continues on the Walls of Pisa with the show "Quella meraviglia di Alice" (That Wonderful Alice) on 24 and 25 h. 11.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m. and 26 May h. 11.00 a.m. along the evocative walls of Pisa. Inspired by Lewis Carroll's "The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland" and "Alice in the Mirror", this production by Flavia Bucciero and Con.Cor.D.A./Movimentoinactor and realised with the support of MiC and the Region of Tuscany and the collaboration of CoopCulture has been performed more than a hundred times in Italy and abroad. It tells the story of a modern Alice who moves in a universe in continuous metamorphosis such as dance, which here becomes a privileged tool for crossing the boundaries of reality. Followed by a performance of ECHO virtual dance by Cora Gasparotti, choreographer and dancer of the metaverse.
