A place of history, culture and art: Sunday 27 April ‘Mura Sottosopra’ guided tour on the Walls of Pisa led by Ilario Luperini, president of the Amur association (Amici delle Mura). Appointment at 4 p.m. at the Parlascio, the start is dedicated to contemporary artist Lanfranco Cionna's exhibition ‘Ideal landscapes and figures of women’, on display at the Bastion until 4 May.
This will be followed by an in-depth look at the Walls of Pisa and the peculiar characteristics of the Pisan walls: it will be an opportunity to discover many curiosities and anecdotes that can be appreciated both at high altitudes and under the Walls. From Porta del Parlascio, where the main road axis of the medieval civitas ended, to Porta del Leone in Piazza dei Miracoli and back. Along the route, one can see doors that have never been opened as well as entrances once active and now closed, such as the Porta di Santo Stefano, which together with the Tower and the Bridge of the same name was one of the main entrances to Pisa.
Tickets 10 euro including entrance to the Walls, 8 euro for Amur members, limited places available, reservation by e-mail to luperini.ilario@gmail.com, amur.pisa@gmail.com or by phone and whatsapp at 346-3165759.
