On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, coinciding with Etruscan Day, the Il Mosaico Cultural Association is proposing an initiative to discover one of Pisa's oldest monuments: the Etruscan Mound.
The program for Sunday, September 27th includes two guided tours (at 12:00pm and 3:30pm) and at 5:30pm the open-air harp and flute concert by Lisetta Rossi, Duccio Lombardi and Alessio Bacci. Student musicians from the "Wind and String Ensemble of the Giuseppe Toniolo Comprehensive Institute" will also speak, prepared by teachers Laura Mazza (Cello), Domenico Montalbano (Clarinet), and Carlo Ribechini (violin), conducted by Domenico Montalbano.
Professor Stefano Bruni, a Pisan archaeologist who oversaw the Tumulus excavation campaign, will tell and guide visitors through the archaeological site, revealing mysteries and secrets.

He's calling EVERYONE FROM THE PRINCE ON SUNDAY NIGHT! The event that the organizers, for ten years now, have been offering to anyone who wants to discover one of the most fascinating (and little-known) landscapes of the city, listening to music performed by one of the longest-running musical groups in our area. No stage, no structure, but only the vast lawn in front of the monument ready to welcome the musicians and the audience, all together on the esplanade in an unusual conference. With a strong recommendation for attendees to bring their own picnic seats and armchairs, or better yet, plaids and pillows to sit freely and relax on the lawn to enjoy the good music (no seats assigned for the audience!).
As is customary in the initiatives of the Il Mosaico Cultural Association, entry is free, but funds will be raised for the welding school in Bukavu, Congo, founded by Ilaria Moneta, a Pisan doctor working abroad to support the most needy populations.
The initiative is taking place in collaboration with the Pisa Section of the Archeo Club d'Italia and the Italian Red Cross, with the patronage of the Municipality of Pisa, owner of the archaeological site.
