On the occasion of Republic Day, the National Museums of Pisa will offer free admission to the public.

On the same day, the 71st Regatta of the Maritime Republics will take place along the Lungarni. The Museo delle Navi Antiche, which bears witness to the city’s ancient maritime vocation, will remain open with continuous opening hours. At the Museo Nazionale di San Matteo, the exhibition “The Sea That Unites: Mediterranean Techniques and Cults between Pisa and Catalonia” will continue to be on display. At Palazzo Reale, visitors may still attend the exhibition “Confronti.”

Opening hours for Tuesday, 2 June:

  • Museo delle Navi Antiche: open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with free admission
  • Museo Nazionale di San Matteo: open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with free admission
  • Palazzo Reale: open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with free admission
  • Certosa Monumentale di Calci: open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with free access to the Courtyard of Honour and the church. For the paid guided tour with the full itinerary, tickets may be purchased at https://www.visitamusei.pisa.it/ or reserved via WhatsApp at +39 3240018050

In addition, on the previous day, Monday, 1 June, the museums will observe extraordinary opening hours with paid admission according to the following schedule:

  • Museo delle Navi Antiche: open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Museo Nazionale di San Matteo: open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Palazzo Reale: open from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

All four museums will observe delayed closures on Wednesday, 3 June.
