The historical group Balestrieri di Porta San Marco, in collaboration with the Compagnia dei Balestrieri di Lucca and with the Patronage of the City of Pisa organized, for Saturday, September 9 at the Bastione Stampace, the historical re-enactment of September 8,1499, the day in which, after 38 long days of siege, the Florentine army commanded by Paolo Vitelli, was forced to abandon the siege brought to the city of Pisa, the Bastion.

The initiative will see the re-enactment of medieval camps, historical parade, falconry activities with flight of birds of prey and palio between crossbowmen.

The program of Saturday 9 September

9a.m. Disposition of medieval camps of the Armigeri delle Compagnie pisane and start of visits

12.00 Affixing laurel wreath to the walls by the City Authorities, with presence Gonfalone of the City with Valletti in historical costume, drappellpello of honor of the "Crossbowmen of Porta San Marco" and other historical groups participating.

4p.m. Departure procession from the Fortress of the Citadel

4.15p.m. Chiesa San Paolo a Ripa d'Arno for solemn blessing of the participating groups.

4.30p.m. Falconry and educational activities with flight of birds of prey of Falconry Sunrise.

5p.m. Palio between the Crossbowmen of the Company Crossbowmen of Lucca and the Crossbowmen of Porta San Marco, within the support. Exhibition Archers.

6p.m. Proclamation Winners and flag of the Victory at the end of the Re-enactment, return to the local dressing.

The re-enactment includes the participation of the Compagnia dei Balestrieri di Lucca in memory of those three hundred infantrymen from Lucca who defended Pisa and all the historical groups of Pisa and the province that have already given their membership.
