From October 11 to 22, 2025, the GAMeC-CentroArteModerna in Pisa (Lungarno Mediceo, 26) will host Eugenio Contatore's solo exhibition entitled “Pisana Aetas.” The exhibition celebrates the deep bond between the artist and the city of Pisa, the place where he trained, lived, and experienced creative rebirth.

The opening will be held on Saturday, October 11, at 5:00 p.m.

Contatore, originally from Calabria, arrived in Pisa in 1978 to attend university. Here he graduated, worked as a researcher at Olivetti, and in 2011 embarked on his artistic career, training at the Academy of Art directed by Maestro Bruno Pollacci and later in the studio of Maestro F. Dossena in Milan. His work is distinguished by the use of pictorial and graphic techniques—oil, acrylic, charcoal, sepia, and sanguine—with a preference for portraits and landscapes.

The exhibition “Pisana Aetas” brings together works that tell the story of Pisa through the eyes of someone who has lived it intensely: as a student, as a father, as an artist. Urban landscapes, historic architecture, familiar atmospheres, and affectionate portraits make up a visual diary that conveys beauty, memory, and truth.

Admission to the exhibition is free. This is a valuable opportunity to encounter an authentic artist who has chosen Pisa as his spiritual home and who, with this exhibition, is giving back to the city a fragment of its history and sensibility.

Opening hours from Tuesday to Saturday: 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Special openings on Sunday, October 12 and 19, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Closed on Mondays (for public holidays, it is advisable to call +39 3393961536).
