The New Year's Concert will be held on January 1, 2026, at 6:00 PM, organized by the Pisa Theater Foundation in collaboration with the Pisa Host Lions Club and the Municipality of Pisa.
On the Verdi stage, the Orchestra Giovanile della Toscana and soprano Greta Doveri, conducted by Filippo Barsali, will present a anthology of music and arias by Mozart, Donizetti, Verdi, Bellini, and Rossini based on famous operas (Nozze di Figaro, Don Pasquale, La traviata, La sonnambula, Don Giovanni, Così fan Tutte, and Signor Bruschino).
Exuberant pages of the Marriage of Figaro (Ouverture; And Susanna does not come! … where are the good moments) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will open the concert program which will continue with Gaetano Donizetti's Don Pasquale (Ouverture; Quel guardo il Cavaliere), the prelude to Giuseppe Verdi's Traviata, and arias from the Sonnambula (Ah! He doesn't believe he's aiming at you) by Vincenzo Bellini and from The Barber of Seville (Overture; A voice a little while ago) by Gioachino Rossini. Mozart's music will then return with Don Giovanni (Overture; In what excesses... He betrayed me) and with Così fan tutte (Temerari … Come scoglio), and after Rossini's Overture del Signor Bruschino, the grand finale with Verdi's Brindisi della Traviata.
Thanks to the contribution of the Northwest Tuscany Chamber of Commerce Confcommercio Province of Pisa, a toast will be offered and the mistletoe sprigs will be donated to the ladies.
