Monte Pisano Comes Alive Within the Walls: On Saturday, May 30, at 5:00 p.m. at the Bastione del Parlascio—the entrance to the elevated walkway—Silvia Sorbi and Patrizia Scaglia will present their book "The Treasures of Monte Pisano III – Rocks, Minerals, and Fossils", the third in a series of interactive guides that completes the trilogy dedicated to the natural riches of Monte Pisano. The volume encapsulates the region’s entire geodiversity across 144 pages featuring photos, drawings, and maps, using a playful and accessible style while remaining scientific in language and content.
The book will be presented by the author, Silvia Sorbi, a naturalist at the Natural History Museum of the University of Pisa, who will then accompany participants on a tour inside the Bastion to show which rocks from Monte Pisano were used to build the Walls of Pisa.
Admission is free; afterward, participants may continue their walk along the Walls to Piazza dei Miracoli at a reduced ticket price.
