On Saturday 20 September 2026, ‘Nature on the Walls’ will take place – a guided nature walk at altitude for young and old alike.
A journey of discovery through the flora and fauna of the ramparts and an excursion focusing on natural micro-environments – unique urban ecological niches where lizards, nocturnal birds of prey and other small animals find a distinctive habitat at these heights, forming an ecological corridor in the city centre – led by Marco Zuffi from the Natural History Museum of the University of Pisa.
The tour is organised by the Natural History Museum of the University of Pisa, in collaboration with CoopCulture, Cooperativa Itinera and Promocultura.

ACCESSIBILITA'
Partially accessible. There are 20 steps near Torre di Legno. People with disabilities may use the lift at the Bastione del Parlascio to descend, provided they have notified the organisers in advance at m.pezzini@coopculture.it and muradipisa@coopculture.it, as there is no lift at the Torre Santa Maria arrival point.
