April 2025 sees the start of the project to enhance the heritage of the National Museums of Pisa thanks to the Archaeology and Itinera Cooperatives. There will be didactic and educational activities aimed at schools of all levels, general or thematic tours to accompany all visitors of all ages to discover the collections of the national museums, and visits also for foreign visitors and those with disabilities. All this, always
under the guidance of experts who will tell the history, curiosities and peculiarities of each place.
Guided weekend tours are planned throughout the month of April, with no minimum number of participants required but a maximum number of 25. Reservation not required but recommended at + 39 324 0018050 (WhatsApp). Be at the museum at least 15 minutes before the visit.
Below is the calendar of scheduled guided tours in April.
LE NAVI ANTICHE DI PISA. A journey to discover the ancient ships and archaeological finds discovered during excavations in the Pisa San Rossore area, with a focus on the history of the city, navigation in antiquity and the conservation of the exhibits.
- every Saturday and Sunday (including Easter): first shift at 3 p.m., second shift at 5 p.m.;
- Moday 21 April at 3 and 5 p.m.;
- Friday 25 April at 5 p.m.
Cost: 10,00€ per person for the guided tour, free for under 6s + museum admission ticket (8,00€ full price | 2,00€ reduced | free for under 18s and for everyone only on the first Sunday of the month).
MUSEO NAZIONALE DI SAN MATTEO. A journey through the works of artists from Pisa, Tuscany and elsewhere, and the major masters of the 15th century, including paintings, sculptures and sacred art objects, discovering the beauty and history of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, through iconography, artistic techniques and the materials used.
- every Saturday afternoon, first shift at 3 p.m. and second shift at 5 p.m.;
- every Sunday morning (including Easter) at 10 and 11.30 a.m.;
- Monday 21 April at 10 a.m. and 11.30 a.m.;
- Friday 25 April at 10 and 11.30 a.m.

MUSEO NAZIONALE DI PALAZZO REALE. Discovering the Royal Palace and its precious artistic and
cultural heritage, a fascinating window on life at the grand ducal court and the historical evolution of the city, with a focus on portraiture, patronage and artistic techniques related to furnishings and tapestries.
- every Saturday at 11 a.m.
Cost: 10,00€ per person for the guided tour, free for the under 6s + museum entrance ticket (€5.00 full price | €2.00 reduced | free under 18s and for everyone only on the first Sunday of the month);
MONUMENTAL CHARTERHOUSE OF CALCI. The tour will also include access to the sacristy to admire the Calci Bible dated 1168, a cornerstone in the history of the Italian miniature.
- all Saturdays access only with a guided tour at 2.30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5.30 p.m;
- all Sundays and holidays at 9.30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12.30 p.m;
Cost: €8.00 per person for the guided tour per adult, €6.00 from 6-12 years and free under 6 years + museum entrance ticket (€5.00 full | €2.00 reduced | free under 18 years and for everyone on the first Sunday of the month).
ON THE FIRST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH ADMISSION TO ALL NATIONAL MUSEUMS IS FREE, YOU ONLY PAY FOR THE GUIDED TOUR IF YOU WISH TO TAKE PART.
