Easter Sunday and Easter Monday in the name of art and culture. Over the holiday period, museums, galleries, archaeological sites and parks, villas, gardens, abbeys and state-owned monuments will remain open, allowing everyone to enjoy Italy’s artistic, scenic and cultural treasures.
Sunday 5 April, Easter Sunday, coincides with ‘Sunday at the Museum’, the Ministry of Culture’s initiative offering free entry to state-run museums and archaeological parks on the first Sunday of every month.
Below are the opening hours during the Easter holidays.
PLEASE NOTE: museums are postponing their weekly closing day.
NATIONAL MUSEUM OF SAN MATTEO
- Sunday 5 April: open 9 am - 1.30 pm (last admission at 1 pm) - FREE;
- Monday 6 April: open 9 am - 1.30 pm (last admission at 1 pm) - ADMISSION FEE;
- Tuesday 7 April: CLOSED;
NATIONAL MUSEUM OF PALAZZO REALE
- Sunday 5 April: open 9 am - 1.30 pm (last admission at 1 pm) - FREE;
- Monday 6 April: CLOSED;
- Tuesday 7 April: open 9 am - 1.30 pm (last admission at 1 pm) - ADMISSION FEE;
MUSEUM OF ANCIENT SHIPS
- Sunday 5 April: open 2 pm - 7.30 pm (last admission at 1 pm) - FREE;
- Monday 6 April: open 2 pm - 7.30 pm (last admission at 6.30 pm) - ADMISSION FEE;
- Tuesday 7 April: CLOSED;
MONUMENTAL CERTOSA OF CALCI
- Sunday 5 April: open 9 am - 1.30 pm. Free admission to the Courtyard of Honour and the fully frescoed monastery church.
Guided tours (fee applies) covering the entire site at 9.30 am, 10.30 am, 11.30 am and 12.30 pm.
