On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the exhibition 'A Room of One’s Own' will be inaugurated in the historic halls of the Royal Victoria Hotel in Pisa. The exhibition presents works by Laura Fabbri and Manola Gazzarri, and will also feature, for the occasion, the participation of Daniela Bertini with themed readings.
The exhibition, inspired by the themes addressed in the book A Room of One's Own by Virginia Woolf, aims to highlight how this 1929 essay remains highly relevant today. It addresses the challenges that every woman still has to face in order to gain her own personal space (both physical and mental) and the financial independence that would finally allow her to express herself artistically, without having to submit to the social and cultural restrictions and obligations that have long placed her at a disadvantage.
This exhibition is a tribute to women, to Virginia Woolf, and to the historic and elegant Royal Victoria Hotel, which once hosted the writer and will host this exhibition from March 7 to April 12.
