After the success of biking and cinema-related events, Aquarium of Memory develops a new communication experiment to bring the city's collective memory to the city and allow it to be unconventional.

 

On Saturday, October 28th, the initiative is planned for the Cinebattello cruise on the Arno to project the history of Pisa on the shoulders and facades of the Lungarni palaces and the events that have the river as protagonist: from the movies of the swimming races in Arno from the archive Mario Benvenuti and kindly granted by his son Paolo Benvenuti, to the city divided into two with the destruction of bridges during the war, from the images of the 1966 flood and the collapse of the Solferino bridge, to the stories of the famous Navicellai.

 

An event that brings together video projections, a cruise trip on the Arno, the city itself that tells its memories and history along the river.

 

Large-scale projections will be easily visible from the shoulders along the banks of the river and bridges, but you can also book a place on board the boat that will turn into floating cinema on occasion.

 

Two cruises lasting about 1 hour each, 35 seats available on each cruise, departing at 18.30 and 19.30 from Roncioni - Lungarno Mediceo. The event, sponsored by the Municipality of Pisa in collaboration with Nanof s.r.l., Tuscany Region, Toscana Energia, Saint-Gobain Glass Pisa, Navicelli S.p.A. and the cooperative Il Navicello, is free, but it is necessary to book at 328 476 4592.

 

The route, organized in 4 stages, plus the return path, provides some stops and projections on the facades of 4 historical sites in the city of Pisa:

 

Stage 1 - San Matteo, side church facade, north shore (Schedules 18:40, 19:40)

 

Stage 2 - Palace of the Clock, former Municipal Library, South Shore (Schedules 18:50, 19:50)

 

Stage 3 - Church of the Spine, South shore (Schedules 19:00, 20:00)

 

Stage 4 - Citadel, North Bank (Schedules 19:10, 20:10)

 

In the event of rain or conditions preventing the river's navigability, the organizers reserve the time to postpone projections to a new date.
