From Saturday 9 April, the exhibition "Agrumi. Botanical watercolours by Simonetta Occhipinti".

The exhibition presents a selection of watercolour paintings by the botanical artist Simonetta Occhipinti in which the protagonists are citrus fruits.

With a degree in piano and music didactics, the artist has dedicated herself to botanical painting since her youth, also studying ancient Flemish and Renaissance painting techniques for a long time. Her works have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions, organised in prestigious venues such as the Natural History Museum in Florence, the Palazzo Ducale in Camerino, the Accademia dei Georgofili, Lindlay Hall in London, the Botanical Gardens of Florence, Lucca, Padua, Edinburgh, the Villa Bardini Museum in Florence, the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation in Pittsburgh, the Muzeum Sztuki i Techniki Japonskiej in Krakow.
In February 2016 he won the gold medal at the "London Botanical Art Show" organised by the Royal Horticultural Society presenting eight plates on citrus fruits from the Medici cultivations. In May 2019 she won the gold medal at the international Biscot competition, organised by Gardening Scotland and the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh. As of 2019, one of her works (Solanum licopersicum var. Datterino) is in the permanent collection of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation.
She is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists and an SBA Fellow Member.
She lives and works in Tuscany in the Florentine hills.

The exhibition will be open from Saturday 9 to Monday 25 April during the Museum's opening hours.
