The Cultural Association "Chi vuole essere Lieto sia" presents the ninth edition of the "Salotto Musicale" (The Musical Salon 2026)

The Salotto Musicale is a project born in 2015 from an idea by Anna Ulivieri and Chiara Tarantino in collaboration with the Department of Civilizations and Forms of Knowledge, the University Museum System and the Gipsoteca.

The aim is to offer not just chamber music concerts, but windows into different eras and places where the living room in the broadest sense maintains one of the most vibrant cultural scenes.

The underlying theme is the dialogue between different eras and cultures from antiquity to the present.

Music is always contextualized by comparing it to other arts and disciplines of knowledge. The compositions are original or presented according to arrangements made by the musicians themselves in the desire to re-propose the atmosphere and spirit that has always animated making music.

The protagonist of the 9th edition of Il Salotto Musicale is air as an essential element of life, expression, and music.

In each event of the 9th edition of Il Salotto Musicale, a concert serves as a prelude to a workshop to learn about or deepen your understanding of a discipline, whether music or otherwise closely connected to it and which can contribute to physical and mental well-being.

We talk about air not only in the musical field, but also in breathing management for freediving, meditation, biodance, to counteract anxiety in an artistic performance and in general in daily life in today's society where performance anxiety is very common.

PROGRAMME:

  • On Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 4:00 PM, the concert “ANEMOS” in which Stefano Agostini, starting from a breath, offers a journey of research into sound with different flutes and traditions, including free improvisation, baroque compositions, reinterpretations of pieces from the jazz repertoire, and original works dedicated to him.

Stefano Agostini, concert pianist, teacher, and former director of the Pietro Mascagni Institute of Higher Musical Education in Livorno, then leads the workshop “An Effective Study Method for Limiting Stress in Performance”.

  • Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 4:00 PM concert “SPRING AIR”: Anna Ulivieri on flute and Stefano Quaglieri on guitar in a concert inspired by air and water, with music from antiquity to original compositions by Dario Paganin written for the musicians who perform them in their world premieres.

This will be followed by the workshop “Breathing Management in Diving, Daily Life, and Artistic Performance” led by Antonio Montomoli, a freediving fishing instructor, and Laura Fagiolini, a psychologist.
