From 20 September to 16 November, the Graphics Museum of Palazzo Lanfranchi hosts an unpublished story that traces the history of the Pisa Sporting Club in its 116 years of life.
Presentation of the exhibition: Tuesday 30 September 2025 at noon.
The Pisa Sporting Club exhibition starts with a suggestive installation of lights, colors and sounds visible in a room of Palazzo Lanfranchi. A history of images, created by the Museum of Graphics (Municipality of Pisa, University of Pisa) in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Pisa, the Pisa Sporting Club 1909, the Cento-Pisa Association 1909 Football Museum, the Pisa Foundation.
Photographs, objects, posters, prints and works by contemporary artists make up an evocative journey through the different periods of the Pisa Sporting Club. The trailblazers of the route are the logos that for over a century have accompanied, as beloved graphic symbols, the events and exploits of the Pisan football team. Among the best known, the one designed by Carlo Grassini, also author of the Cassa di Risparmio di Pisa logo.
From the beautiful recent news (with promotion to the top division) to the unforgettable seasons of Romeo Anconetani, from the first promotion to Serie A in 1968 to the foundation of the Pisa Sporting Club in 1909 with the most glorious symbol of the city's identity, the white cross on a red field, this is how a journey into the world of sport and the history of a city and a country in which football is not only a game, but also and above all a powerful phenomenon of social aggregation, a strong economic engine, a splendid cultural motif is composed.
