On the occasion of the exhibition "Hokusai" Blue Palace, open until 23 February and dedicated to the master Katsushika Hokusai, on the big screen of the Cineclub Arsenale in Pisa come four jewels of that Japanese cinema that has been able to mix tradition and experimentation, from the classical era to the most contemporary languages, reflecting on society, culture and spirituality of a country rich in contrasts and beauty. The project at the Cineclub is realized with the contribution of Fondazione Palazzo Blu and in collaboration with Palazzo Blu and Mondo Mostre.

The film festival at the Arsenale kicks off on January 29th at 8:30 pm, with one of the most iconic masterpieces in cinema history, "The 7 samurai" by Akira Kurosawa, in a restored version and subtitled in original language, Who accompanies us in the epic and human universe of feudal Japan, where honor, courage and sacrifice are at the center of a timeless story. On the programme on 5 February at 8:30 pm "Princess Mononoke", an adventure film that has made famous in the West the master of animation Hayao Miyazaki. It continues on February 12 at 8:30 pm with the restored version of "Journey to Tokyo", a masterpiece by director Yasujirô Ozu, which tells the long journey of an elderly couple to visit their children. The project will close on 19 February at 8:30 pm with the animation by Isao Takahata "The story of the shining princess", with his dream to return to the moon.
