The Municipality of Pisa will celebrate the arrival of 2026 with a great free New Year's concert open to all in Piazza dei Cavalieri, where Alfa, one of the most beloved young Italian artists of the moment, will perform on the evening of December 31st. The organization of the event is managed by Pisamo in collaboration with the Municipality of Pisa.
The protagonist will be the young and authentic Alfa artist, capable of exciting and singing entire generations together.
Andrea De Filippi, aka Alfa, born in 2000, from Genoa, he is among the most listened to singer-songwriters of the new Italian pop scene: over 265 million views on YouTube, six platinum records and a summer of 2025 marked by the success of the song “A me mi piace” in collaboration with Manu Chao. Fresh from a tour of the main Italian sports halls, Alfa will bring its energy and successes to Pisa to accompany the public on the countdown to the new year.
The New Year's concert, designed to experience together the most awaited night of the year in the heart of the city between music, party and entertainment, represents the final event of the Christmas holiday calendar.
The show will start at 10.00 pm, with Alfa as the protagonist until midnight. At midnight, the traditional fireworks will also be held, illuminating the city's Lungarni.
After the toast, the evening will continue until late at night with the DJ set of Demetra & Bianca, a Tuscan duo of DJs and producers known for their combination of music, fashion and artistic performances.
TRAFFIC CHANGES
Ponte di Mezzo
Starting at 5:30 PM on December 31st and continuing until 9:00 AM on January 1st, and in any case until requirements cease to allow for complete cleaning of the area, it will be closed to vehicular transit.
From 6:30 PM on December 31st, for organizational or safety reasons, the bridge may be subject to temporary closures to pedestrian traffic.
Lungarno Galilei
In the stretch between Piazza San Sepolcro and Piazza XX Settembre, Lungarno Galilei will be affected from 5:30 PM on December 31st until 9:00 AM on January 1st, and in any case until the requirements for complete cleaning cease, from closure to vehicular traffic and the establishment of a parking ban with forced removal. In the section between the Ponte della Fortezza and Piazza San Sepolcro, from 8:30 pm on December 31st until 9:00 am on January 1st, traffic will be closed to vehicles, with the exception of vehicles serving the event. During the closure, parked vehicles will be able to drive out to Piazza San Sepolcro following the planned alternative route. The exit of vehicles parked on the Lungarno Galilei and vehicles authorized to use the ZTL will be permitted with a signposted alternative route.
Lungarno Gambacorti
In the stretch between Piazza XX Settembre and Via delle Belle Donne, Lungarno Gambacorti will be closed to vehicular traffic from 5:30 pm on December 31st until 9:00 am on January 1st°. During the same period, a parking ban with forced removal will be established, with the exception of vehicles serving the event.
Lungarno Pacinotti
In the stretch between Via Curtatone and Montanara and Piazza Garibaldi, a parking ban with forced removal will be in effect from 5:30 pm on December 31st until 9:00 am on January 1st°. From 8:30 PM on December 31st until 9:00 AM on January 1st, and in any case until the requirements cease, the closure to vehicular traffic will also be ordered, with the exclusion of vehicles heading to the Piazza Carrara parking lot and vehicles authorized for the Northern ZTL up to Via Curtatone and Montanara.
Lungarno Mediceo
In the stretch between Piazza Garibaldi and Piazza Mazzini, Lungarno Mediceo will be closed to vehicular traffic from 8:30 pm on December 31st until 9:00 am on January 1st°.
Ponte della Fortezza
On the Ponte della Fortezza, from 8:30 pm on December 31st until 9:00 am on January 1st, the west lane will be closed to vehicular traffic, maintaining the permitted south-north direction of travel.
Piazza dei Cavalieri and surrounding streets
To allow for the assembly and disassembly of the equipment necessary for the concert scheduled to take place in Piazza dei Cavalieri, temporary parking measures will be adopted in Piazza dei Cavalieri and the adjacent streets from December 27, 2025, to January 3, 2026. In the square, along the sides of the Gualandi Arch and the Palace of the Council of Twelve, a parking ban will be established with forced removal in the staging areas. Similar parking restrictions will apply to Via Curtatone and Montanara, Via San Frediano, and Via Martiri.
On December 31st, from 4:00 PM until 4:00 AM on January 1°, temporary traffic and parking measures will also be implemented. Piazza dei Cavalieri will be closed to vehicular traffic. Traffic and parking restrictions will affect Via Consoli del Mare, Via San Frediano, Via Dini, and Via Oberdan, with the pedestrian area on the latter street temporarily suspended for the duration of the demonstrations.
