On Saturday 10 October, the Walls of Pisa will be taking part in Geodiversity Week with the initiative ‘In Search of Stone’, organised by the University of Pisa.

The activity is led by Professor Marco Lezzerini of the Department of Earth Sciences, in collaboration with Silvia Sorbi of the Natural History Museum: following a brief introduction to the main types of stone used to build the Walls, participants will be divided into teams and take part in a fun competition.

By examining a selection of photographs, each team will have to identify the stone blocks depicted as quickly as possible; the winners will receive free admission tickets to the Natural History Museum and the Walls of Pisa. 

Meet at 10.00 am at the Torre Santa Maria in Piazza dei Miracoli.
