On the occasion of the Jubilee 2025, the association Parallelo Dance presents Agapè - Universal Love, a project articulated in three theater-dance performances inspired by the theological virtues: Faith, Hope and Charity. The three scenic actions are conceived as parts of a single path, connected to each other in a sequential structure. Each performance maintains formal autonomy but fits into an overall vision, which develops in time and space.
The initiative is carried out with the support of the Municipality of Pisa, the Fondazione Pisa and with the collaboration of the Churches of San Paolo a Ripa d'Arno, Santa Caterina and San Michele in Borgo, which will host the events dedicated to faith, hope and charity respectively. The placement within religious buildings gives the project a context consistent with the themes addressed and allows a direct relationship between symbolic content and architectural space.
The choreographic language is combined with visual and musical elements in a scenic setting focused on three geometric forms, associated with each virtue: the pyramid for faith, the cube for hope, the sphere for charity. These figures are an integral part of the set-up, with a representative and compositional function.
The performances will be held on 29 May at the Church of San Paolo in Ripa d'Arno, 14 June at the Church of Santa Caterina and 21 June at the Church of San Michele in Borgo.
Two replicas are planned on each occasion, the first at 8.45 p.m. and the second at 9.30 p.m.. Participation is free, but you must confirm your presence by writing to secretariaaparallelo@gmail.com, specifying the time and number of participants.
