The "Die of Saint Sixtus" commemorative celebrations, honouring the Pisan pope and martyr, will take place on the afternoon of Thursday, 6 August. The event is organised by the Association of the Friends of Pisa, under the patronage of the Municipality of Pisa and the Province of Pisa.

Outside the Church of San Sisto in Corte Vecchia, a laurel wreath will be laid at the memorial plaque dedicated to the Pisan fallen of all wars. - 6:15 p.m.
Holy Mass, celebrated by Don Tiago Siqueira, in remembrance of the Pisan fallen of all wars, followed by the traditional blessing of the grapes. - 7:00 p.m.
Presentation by the Association's President on the activities carried out during the year, followed by the conferral of Honorary Membership upon Prof. L. Lenzini and the CONI Centre of Tirrenia. The programme will continue with a historical lecture by Prof. Stefano Renzoni, entitled: "A New Identity: Figurative Culture in Pisa between the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries." - 8:30 p.m.
