The Luminara is a recurring event which celebrates the patron of Pisa, St. Ranieri.

The artificial lighting is replaced by the warm and lively light of thousands of candles which take the viewers to an enchanted dimension.

The name of this event comes from the candles placed along the Arno river, which are secured on white wooden frameworks called “biancherie”, which reproduce the architectural details of the buildings or create new ones to stimulate the creativity and the imagination.

At midnight every year takes place an amazing fireworks show.
