On Sunday, March, 15th, at 05:30 p.m., Meditations and a cappella songs performed by Bei Legami Ensemble under the direction of Michele Caris at the Christian Adventist Church on Via Pietro Gori 13.
On Saturday, March, 21st, at 09:15 p.m., the Church of Saint Michael in the Borough will host a passion reading held by Marialuisa Pepi, based on the episode with Pontius Pilate, a man whose cold-blooded cynicism makes him ready to sacrifice the Innocent Righteous on the altar of realpolitik. The event will be complemented by classical interludes performed by contralto singer Sara Bacchelli and organist Riccardo Gnudi, who will play music by JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH.
On Palm Sunday, March, 29th, at 05:00 p.m., the Church of Saint Catherine will host a passion reading from Mark held by Andrea Buscemi, Livia Castellana and Benedetta Martini. The readers will be accompanied by the Musical Chapel of Pisa Cathedral, performing a cappella motets under the direction Riccardo Donati.
On Holy Tuesday, March, 31st, at 09:15 p.m., by popular demand and as a tribute to what has become a tradition, it will once again be time for Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, presented as arranged by Giovanni Paisiello, with two male voices and wind instruments added to the original two female solo voices and bowed string instruments. The concert will take place at Saint Fridianus Church.
On Sunday, April, 12th, at 09:15 p.m, an Easter concert will be held at the Church of Saint Michael of the Barefoot Monks. Mo Claudiano Pallottini will delight the audience with a first-rate organist’s repertoire which will make the ancient Benedictine abbey resound with the joyous announcement of Christ’s Resurrection.
