On May 24, the European Park Day is celebrated and the European Park Federation (EUROPARC) initiative is renewed to remember the day when the first European park was set up in Sweden in 1909. In Italy the date of May 24th expands on several days, with a rich program of meetings, hikes, exhibitions and environmental activities.

 

Pisa participates in the initiative with visits and events within Parco di Migliarino, San Rossore and Massaciuccoli.

The initiatives will continue until the final party will take place on Sunday 28 May from 9am to 7.30pm in the San Rossore Estate where the center of Cascine Vecchie will be the day dedicated to the "Saperi e sapori del Parco dei Toscani" initiative promoted by Tuscany region that simultaneously involves the three regional parks. The parks recommended by the Park, the Campagna Amica Coldiretti farmhouse and the Mukki with the Tuscan Milk Festival will be presented to visitors with a rich program of tastings, visits to the train, boat and carriage.

Train and boat tours

The train will cross the tree-lined avenue of Cascine Nuove, from where you can admire the green forests and pine forests, to end with a dip in the past thanks to the vision of the old relatives of the Royal employees. The visit continues with boarding and sailing Of the Arno River stretching across the Park.

Guided tour of "Villa del Gombo"

Presidential residence inside the Park. The villa, usually closed, is only open on special occasions like this. The expert guide will accompany the participants for a dive in the unforgettable past.
