A video installation to commemorate one year since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, with the invasion by Russia. The video will be projected in Pisa, on the walls of the SMS museum exhibition centre (Via delle Piagge), from sunset on Friday 24 to sunrise on Saturday 25 February. It is the work of Russian conceptual artist Andrei Molodkin entitled 'Bloody Democracy' and 'Putin Filled with Ukrainian Blood'. Around 6.30 p.m., when the screening starts, a connection will be established with the artist, who is in Ukraine, if possible.

The initiative, organised by the Cultural Department of the Municipality of Pisa, is curated by Giusy Caroppo, and promoted by London-based a/political, the Giampaolo Abbondio Gallery in Todi, and the Circuito del Contemporaneo platform.

Andrei Molodkin (Boui, 1966) is a Russian conceptual artist, known for his use of human blood and crude oil conveyed in his daring installations through complex mechanisms, mixes of organic materials and technology. He returns to Italy with a project of urgent topicality, strongly symbolic.
