The Ancient Walls of Pisa, built between the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, are an example of the military architecture of the time. In the northern part of the city they have been preserved almost entirely: this has allowed their restoration and today you can walk the walkway at altitude, from which you can admire an unprecedented city panorama. The route measures 3 km with 4 ascent points, 3 of which are accessible to people with disabilities; around the walls there are 3 hectares of urban greenery, the so-called pomerio.
