The "Progetto Dante" arrives in Pisa, conceived and performed by director, philosopher and actor Franco Ricordi. A cultural event of international importance that will take place in three evenings, Saturday 12, Saturday 19 and Saturday 26 July, at 9.30 in the picturesque setting of Piazza dei Cavalieri, where also stands the historic Tower of Fame, as called by Count Ugolino at the end of Hell.
The Dante Project, launched in 2015, has been on tour in 24 countries and 4 continents, establishing itself as one of the most profound and original readings of the Divine Comedy. During each of the three evenings in Pisa, Franco Ricordi will perform one of the three songs of Dante’s opera - Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso - offering the audience a unique experience that combines theatre, philosophy and poetry.
The initiative, free entry, is promoted by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Pisa and is part of the activities of the Pact for Reading, the program aimed at promoting books, reading and knowledge as tools for personal, cultural and social growth.
