PROGRAMME

• A brief introduction to the history and functions of the Botanical Garden, including the effects of climate change on trees and botanical collections;
• Visit to the Arboretum, edited by Dr. Marco d'Antraccoli and Dr. Raffaella Grassi, during which some of the Garden's most notable specimens will become the starting point for a closer look at these themes and reflection on the future of trees in cities and botanical gardens. The Arboretum, an authentic green oasis in the urban fabric of Pisa's historic center, will thus offer the opportunity to read through the trees a story that unites past, present, and ongoing environmental changes.
