Sunday 6 August sees the renewal of the appointment with #domenicaalmuseo, the initiative of the Ministry of Culture that allows free entry, every first Sunday of the month, to state museums and archaeological parks.
The National Museum of San Matteo will be open with the usual opening hours of 9 am-1.30 pm (last entrance at 1pm). At 11 a.m. there will be a free guided tour with a focus on the processional Bandinella with Crucifixion and Flagellation by Giovanni di Nicola for the celebration of St. Sixtus.
The National Museum of the Royal Palace will be open free of charge from 9 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. (last admission at 1 p.m.) with a free tour at 11 a.m.
The museums of the Sistema Museale d'Ateneo will also have free admission:
- Botanical Garden and Museum, open from 8.30 am to 8 pm, www.ortomuseobot.sma.unipi.it
- Museo della Grafica, open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the two exhibitions:
- Fashion, Sport, Tourism
- For Giuseppe Viviani. Homage to the Prince of Boccadarno
