From Monday, June 8th to Saturday, June 13th 2026 in Piazza S. Frediano returns to Pisa with the Piccolo Festival della Fiducia, now in its fifth edition.

This year there is a preview of the Festival starting from June 4th.

The event was conceived and promoted by the Pellegrini Library - Cultural Center "The Trace Seekers", in collaboration with the University Church of San Frediano. Scientific direction by Tommaso Greco and conception by Massimo Trocchi. With the support of the Municipality of Pisa, the Pisa Foundation, Dental Clinique, and the Rotary Club Pisa.

The 2026 edition celebrates the centenary of the death of the great Spanish artist Antoni Gaudí.

MONDAY 8 JUNE

  A dialogue between and with THOMAS GRECO, PHILIP LA PORTA and JOHN SCARAFILE.
  The Scientific Director talks with two friends of the Festival on the themes of this edition, intertwining philosophy, literature, and a tense look at the present.

  Theatrical monologue by and with ERMANNO BENCIVENGA.
  
  What makes time worth living? Money, success, power? We live in a world of shadows, of ghosts, of appearances unworthy of our respect. We know this because we have a yardstick: there are ideals of friendship, good, and humanity available that allow us to evaluate the mistakes, flaws, flaws, and faults of everything around us.   Author MARTA CARTABIA talks with ROBERTO ROMBOLI (Secular member of the Superior Council of the Judiciary).

  Seventy years after the first ruling of the Italian Constitutional Court - which freed the word from fascist censorship - a book, and a dialogue, which remind us that the beauty of freedoms and rights are not definitive consquests, but fragile goods, to be guarded and practiced together, every day.

  Anxiety about physical appearance today afflicts the very young, young and old, constantly searching for an illusory and unattainable ideal. But how, over the centuries, have the stylistic features and "models" of beauty been created in the West? An iconographic journey around the evolution of the concept of beauty, up to the addressing of today's critical issues.

Remembering what it was like to kick when you were a child. Starting there and reclaiming that popular dimension of a sport that, suffocated by money, is losing its deepest dimension: promoting values.

  The author NICCOLO' NISISOCCIA in dialogue with ANDREA SIMONCINI (University of Florence).
  
  Can a law be beautiful? How can we associate the idea of beauty with the "notion" of "law"? Yet beauty and justice are by no means an oxymoron... 7 examples of laws that can be said to be beautiful. For the intentions that moved them, for the idea that supports them, for the breath that passes through them.

THURSDAY 11 JUNE

  Author ELENA GRANATA talks with LEONARDO GERMANI (President of the Order of PPC Architects of Pisa and the Province)

  A political book, in the etymological sense of the term. And that it should shake up the politics of today and tomorrow. For a conception of the city, dclle cities as "common goods", serving the well-being of people. Where the dimension of gratuity once again becomes a constitutive feature. To safeguard the right to health and beauty that should be constitutive of the city environment.

  We live within a continuous, almost automatic visual production, which records the world as it happens. Yet, the more we document everything, the more we risk losing our sense of what really matters. The more images increase, the more something inside us seems to escape focus. A monologue that isn't just about photography: it's about power, memory, control. But it also tells the magic of photography: what a radical invention it was, capable of forever changing the way we look and think. And perhaps it invites us to recover precisely this aspect, not the nostalgia of the past, but the possibility of going back to looking at images as if they could still surprise us. For the world to come back and surprise us.

FRIDAY 12 JUNE

  Author PIETRO DEL SOLDA' talks with ADRIANO FABRIS (University of Pisa)

  An existential investigation of desire, today caught between two opposite extremes. An eros that leads to the total fusion of the two subjects, and which easily decays in the attempt at mutual possession. And its opposite, "the cult of the self," which makes us incapable of trusting and giving our all in a relationship. We need to return to living love in all its power, embracing the risk of "hurting ourselves," putting our identity on the line. "Love and Freedom" is a journey through philosophy, literature, and life stories in the footsteps of the divine Eros.

  Tales of foster care and welcome. Participates MARGHERITA SALINES (Social Worker), readings by FELICE PANTONE (Storyteller). Meeting promoted by Ubi Minor Toscana and Families for Reception.
• 6.15 PM, Piazza S.Frediano - PAROLA AI GIOVANI: I RAGAZZI DEL RIONE SANITA' DI NAPOLI. Experiences of human and urban regeneration.
  
  The process of development and social and cultural regeneration initiated in the Sanità district by don antonio loffredo, has seen more and more the proliferation of cooperatives and associations of young people who, through work, art and culture, have transformed what was defined as a risky and peripheral neighborhood of Naples, into one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city. At the Festival, the story of the girls and boys of the "La Paranza" co-operative.
   
• 9.30 PM, Piazza S.Frediano - DI CANTO, BELLEZZA E RIVOLTA. 
  Final concert with Gianni Aversano Trio.

  An itinerary through Neapolitan popular music: uprisings, prayers, tears and nostalgia through the voice of a great interpreter of Neapolitan music and his instrumentalists. Melodies that are an invitation to look up towards the gift of beauty.
